Mission: Uroboros Mediations’ goal is the create more accessibility, awareness, and interest in utilizing mediation, collaborative law, divorce coaching, and other dispute resolution methods to the public to save people time, money, and relationships.
Vision: We hope to create a less litigious and adverse society through the usage of conflict resolution and dispute resolution processes to reinforce and strengthen empathy, cooperation, and compromise. By negotiating in good faith in disputes, we desire to bolster goodwill.
Our firm is overseen by an NCDRC Mediator and Divorce Coach, Salim Uqdah. A multi-hyphenate professional, Salim is a North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission Certified Mediator in Family Financial, Clerk of Court, Special Proceedings, Estates & Guardianship, and is also a CDC-certified divorce coach. Additionally, he is a North Carolina certified paralegal, eDiscovery advanced specialist, North Carolina public notary, and entrepreneur.Before starting our mediation firm, Salim worked for the State of North Carolina at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse, which is the largest county in the state. During his time at the courthouse, Salim worked in the District Domestic and Civil, Superior Criminal and Civil, and Special Proceedings and Estates departments. He absorbed extensive knowledge of the procedures used by the North Carolina Court System and, on occasion, supervised the Self-Serve Center, which is a public service center that provides self-represented litigants with resources.
Beyond his extensive list of credentials and qualifications, Salim is empathetic and conscientious, two traits that make him an effective mediator. Salim combines perseverance, passion, and empathy to achieve hard-won successes and constant diversification of his skills, talents, and network. He is one of two Advanced Practitioners of the Association of Conflict Resolution Academy of Family Mediators in North Carolina. Also, Salim is a North Carolina Certified Paralegal and eDiscovery Advanced Specialist. In addition, he is a member of the Dispute Resolution Council for the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA), is an active member of its Race and Equity Committee, and is the Co-Chair of the Section Pro Bono Committee. Locally, Salim served on the Mecklenburg Justice Access Initiative Dispute Resolution Committee, a member of Business Networking International, and the Charlotte LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
